Thelma Wynne Project

The Thelma Wynne Project has been in existence in one way or another for over 50 years. For much of that time it has been located within St. Matthew’s church building. Dedicated women from Anglican churches and other faith communities in the city make or collect items and then prepare layettes for newborns. The layettes are distributed through a large number of social agencies in the city to new mothers who need them. The project has evolved somewhat over the years but originally was started by Thelma Wynne after whom it is named.  Volunteers are at St. Matthews – 641 St. Matthews Avenue, Tuesday & Wednesday from 1  to 3 pm and every 3rd and 4th Friday of the month from 10 am to 12 noon.  Not staffed in July and August.  Please see attached for the Thelma Wynne Layette Wish List.  Cheque donations are gratefully accepted and can be sent to The Anglican Diocese of Rupert’s Land at 935 Nesbitt Bay, Winnipeg, MB  R3T 1W6.  Please note “The Thelma Wynne Project” on your cheque.
