Missional Diocese
In response to the recent action plan of the Way Forward, a working group has been formed to:
- Develop a contextual theology of the missional diocese to guide development work throughout the Diocese of Rupert's Land.
- Begin by encouraging theological exploration of the question, “What does it mean to be a ‘missional diocese’?” and the adopting of missional attitudes.
- Clarify guiding principles for the operation of a “missional diocese.”
- Develop a process to engage parishes and the diocese, together, in implementing the concept of a missional diocese ― establishing the bases for diocesan‐wide mission‐led development.
"The church (ekklesia) is the community called out of the world to be the instrument of God’s mission...only a church which is itself always in the process of being transformed can fulfil such a calling."
